Joining our Winemaking Team in the recent months, we would like to introduce you to the newest additions of our Rack & Riddle family:

How long have you worked at Rack & Riddle?
Since July 13, 2020, almost 15 months.
What’s your favorite part of the job?
Solving challenges that arise through the multitude of customers we support. Each customer is unique and presents an array of winemaking styles and ideas. To make them all work together with our teams and our facility to achieve the desired outcome requires a lot of thought and planning. Every day presents something new!
What are your hobbies/interests outside of work?
I love anything pertaining to the outdoors. I love foraging, preserving, hiking, biking, mountaineering, and running races. I’m also a nerd for anything craft booze-related — beer, wine, spirits, cider, etc… I also love passing along my quest for knowledge to my 3-year-old son. He loves mushroom hunting (his favorites are hedgehog mushrooms) and, while too young to drink, knows what a good Pinot Noir smells like!
What is your desert island food & beverage?
Food = A freshly made BLT. You can’t go wrong with homegrown tomatoes, bacon, and delicious greens on perfectly toasted bread.
Drink = Normally it would be anything Rhone, but on an island, I’m going G&T with lime. Gotta make sure you don’t get scurvy.

Megan Hill
Data Entry Specialist/ Winemaking Assistant
How long have you worked at Rack & Riddle?
Four months.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
The chance to work behind the scenes during the pandemic! Plus joining a diverse and dynamic winemaking team in a role that has a bird’s eye view and focuses on organization.
What are your hobbies/interests outside of work?
Gardening, cooking, travel, mushrooming at the coast, and occasionally trout fishing on the Upper Sac.
What is your desert island food & beverage?
My first thought was my guy’s pork pozole with all the fixings, along with a glass of cooler-climate Syrah or Lacrima… but if it’s truly a DESERT island, days on end — very cold Henhouse IPA and a simple balsamic-glazed Caprese salad and fresh nectarine dessert would be in order!
